This educational session will be led by Dr. Sallie Bissette.

Not a “formal” leader, no worries. This presentation is geared toward identifying the leader in us all. We’ll take a look at different styles of leadership as well as how they can be utilized in our every-day life. Feel like you have this “leadership thing” down-great! We’ll spend some time talking about the perceptions of our leadership styles to our team members. Leadership is vital any industry including HIM. You will leave this presentation with a few new skills to add to your leadership repertoire.

A healthcare leader herself, Dr. Bissette takes great pride in assisting her fellow leaders gain leadership confidence. Dr. Bissette’s research interests include transformational leadership and gender leadership bias. Her presentations on female leadership have been eye opening to men and women regarding the challenges of the female leader.

In addition to interests in growing leaders, Dr. Bissette works as the Director of Compliance in a local health system in North Carolina. Dr. Bissette obtained a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from East Carolina University. She holds Masters Degrees in Healthcare Management and Business Management from Pfeiffer University. Dr. Bissette obtained her Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Creighton University where she researched the development of the HIM female leader.

In her spare time, Dr. Bissette enjoys cheering on the ECU Pirates and spending time on the water.
